Dr Kampakis recently had the chance to participate at a roundtable held by the FCA on crypto regulation.

The UK is aiming to become a leader in crypto regulation. Dr Kampakis was invited by the British Blockchain Association to contribute his opinion.

It looks like the UK is going for balanced approach, protecting retail investors, while ensuring that entrepreneurs and innovators are not constrained.

This is difficult in practice, so it remains to be seen how well this approach is going to work. What is certain is that as the Web3 space gets hotter, we are going to see a lot of competition amongst different countries who will try to get a part of this nascent market.
