Review of the AI and Creativity lockdown meetup!

AI and creativity

As many of you know, I am a big fan of the space of AI and creativity. This is a space I have worked on and blogged about in the past, and I am still active in. I am also the admin of the AI and Creativity meetup, and we had ran some pretty exciting meetup events in the past.

Given that we are currently in lockdown, we thought it would be a good idea to run an online meetup. This proved to be a huge success with 40 people joining!

The AI and Creativity lockdown meetup!

We had 4 amazing speakers:

1) Gauthier Vernier, Co-founder at Obvious https://obvious-art.com/
Subject: AI, the new creation tool

2) Eva Jäger from the Serpentine Gallery https://www.serpentinegalleries.org/

3) Pierre du Toit from https://www.soundpiece.co/
Subject: AI and Music

4) Fabio Rovai https://fabiorovai.com/

All of our speakers had the opportunity to share more about the work they’re doing. We finished the session with a panel discussion on what everyone believes the future of AI and art to be. In general, there seemed to be consensus amongst the speakers that we should expect to see wider adoption of AI techniques in the creative industries. AI and art also seems to be getting more popular in society, with more and more artwork being produced.
